We formed the company because local employers were tired of London desks that treat St Albans as a commuter footnote. Care homes need staff who already know the difference between a waking night and a sleep-in. Independent restaurants need a kitchen that can survive Saturday without a miracle. Schools need TAs who can do the quiet work, not just the loud CV.

The red door is the only piece of theatre we allow. Everything else is process: a written brief, a conversation with the candidate, a note to the hiring manager that says what we liked and what we worry about. If we cannot fill a role honestly, we say so before we waste a fortnight of interviews.

How we work in the city

St Albans is small enough that reputation travels. We do not send the same three candidates to two competing homes on the same day. We do not advertise a salary we have not confirmed. We do not invent “urgent” when the real problem is an uncompetitive rota.

We also work the fringe: Harpenden, Hatfield, London Colney, and the London side of the line when a candidate already commutes. Distance is a kindness issue, not a pin on a map.
